On 19 March, 2020, the immediate requisition of the Hôtel du Centre was announced by the local authorities as part of the Covid-19 situation. From then on, the daily life of the establishment will be punctuated by meetings with the government and the mobilisation of all the staff: setting up sanitary standards on all floors, setting up a 24/24 hotline, welcoming travellers in quarantine in close collaboration with law enforcement, the management of Health and Social Affairs (DASS-NC) and the security services provided by the Guard NC company...
An original and demanding experience that will have left its mark, but which was also an opportunity for the hotel of Noumea to reveal once again all the versatility and solidarity of its teams in the face of the management of an unprecedented crisis, before being able to reopen its doors to the public since 11 May, 2020.
